Leaving Ronda

After a couple days wandering Ronda, we loaded up the Jimny and headed out for Malaga. This drive took us through farmland that, except for the paved road, doesn't seem to have changed in centuries.

The fields of green with the blue sky and fluffy clouds overhead make a place that is inviting and beautiful.

I really needed a longer lens for this shot. If you look carefully in the image below, you'll see goats and possibly the herding dog and the shepherd. The goats blend in with the rock so well, it is difficult to see anything or anybody.

The mountains around us in the distance make an impressive backdrop to the nearer color and texture.

Like so many other places in Spain, you come upon a place that is stuck in the middle ages. We found this tower on top of the hill forming a motte and bailey to look over the surrounding countryside. I don't know how long this this structure has been standing here, but the local farmers are clearly used to it. The mix of old and new is a big part of what Spain is about.
