I'm quite sure that none of the animals we see are aware of how handsome/surprising they are. But I sure do appreciate the delicate coloration of the back feathers on this bird.
When they stretch out in preparation for light or just a morning stretch and yawn, the black edging on the wings is an elegant contrast to the many shades of pink.

But flamingos are not the only birds to stop by to check out the scene. This white-cheeked pintail duck is also have a look about to see if there is anything good to eat.
