Walking to Tortuga Bay

Like the finches, mockingbirds come in a variety of species. This one is the Galapagos mockingbird and can be found on all the islands except three. those three island each have their own endemic species.

They are frequent ground feeders and are easy to see searching for food along the path to the beach.

Another common bird is the Galapagos flycatcher. This one is posing for me in a nearby tree.

I know that you've seen plenty of photos of the lava lizard already, but I can't resist showing you one again as he is on the low wall at the edge of the walkway do his "push-ups". This is apparently what they do to show off their colors and look larger to intimidate rivals.
