As the sun moved up in the sky, we headed for Dante's peak to catch the panorama from there.
As you can see, it is quite a view from up here.
It turns out the white coating spread along the valley floor is salt. Some of it is regular table salt and some of it other sorts of salts. Interestingly, the nearby rocks below where we are standing are both red and green. A kind of christmas in November, eh?
