Snohomish Easter Parade

We have been treated to the spectacle of an Easter Parade here in Snohomish. I surprised by the turn out. First Street is pretty long and it was filled all the way along with people on both sides. Not a Macy's Thanksgiving parade or anything, but a well-attended one nonetheless.

Of course, Seamus was there. And, no, he's not checking out the crowd. You'll notice from the crumbs on his face and the food in his hand that he only had one hand of food at the moment and is looking to Mom to provide food for the empty hand. A boy can't really eat proper with only one handful of food, ya know.

Our parade actually had some "floats" all decorated for the season.

The Snohomish High School Marching Band was here to uphold the honor. They did a good job.

The Sea Eagle mascot attended to cheer up the children and give the adult fans something to cheer about.

My favorite was the folks how walked the parade route with their animals. Here we have a dog, a couple sheep, a few chickens, and a llama.

Naturally, there was candy being passed out (actually, mostly thrown) along the street edges.

If we are to believe what we are told, this family has maintained (for some reason) this truck with all original parts. Although, I confess, the tires and the rims look pretty new. But we were assured that the engine and drivetrain is all original. Dressing it as a bunny rabbit is bit odd, but otherwise...impressive.

There was a llama cart in the parade and I later found the llama "parked" on a side street and was able to get this close-up photo.

All in all, it was a good parade. We had a nice "sunny" PNW day (translate: no rain; the solid sky full of clouds doesn't count). We got to see lots of tractors, trucks, and animals. Proof that we don't really live in Seattle...we live on the edge of farmland.
