Bunjil's Cave
On a hill with the Grampian Mountains in the distance, is a place filled with boulders large and small.
This boulders fill the foreground with presence that seems to anchors the far distant mountains in the here and now.
This land is part of the Geriwerd, a landscape from the Dreamtime that was created and ruled by Bunjil.
And in this large rock is a shallow cave with a painting of Bunjil. It a holy place, a place filled with the soul of the Jardwadjali people, and is protected from the modern world by a chain link fence.
The giant boulders are the pallet for the artist(s) to work their magic.
And indeed they have. This is Bunjil's Cave. It is filled with an ancient magic and speaks even to the Jardwadjali today. We also found it to be a moving experience.
