Penong Windmill Museum
The next stop after Ceduna was Penong. We made a point to stop for fuel whenever the tank was down more than 1/4 tank. Since we had no idea what we were doing, it seemed safe to be very conservative and stop often.
Turns out that thanks to volunteer work, there is a windmill museum here. Folks with time on their hands have lovingly restored these icons of the outback to their former glory and it is pretty cool.
Windmills are used to pump water so this this is a link in a vital resource for Australians, even today.
It was nice to stretch our legs and see something fun and historical.
