South Plaza Island is not limited to providing habitat only to Galapagos land iguana, here we also find birds. Here is a small ground finch.
He seems to be resting a bit on a bit of lava that is at the edge of the island. That's the ocean out of focus in the background.
This rather spectacular fellow is a red-billed tropicbird. This is a plunge diving birds that feeds on all sorts of fish. He is often harassed by frigatebirds since they the pirates of the air, stealing food from everyone. These birds only come to land to breed.
And just to let you know that not all lizards are large iguana here, this is our old friend, the lava lizard, perched on a stump being "large and in charge".
