The image above seems to summarize much of the Galapagos: a land iguana, a laval lizard, and a chunk of lava.
While these large lizards enjoy resting in the shade, they are not adverse to catching a few rays from time to time.
Even the lava lizards will tolerate a bit of the sun for a while.
But mostly, they prefer to rest in the shade at the base of the large, tree-like pear cacti found here. It also happens to tbe one of its favorite foods.
