Santa Cruz Island and the Tortoises

So, we wrapped up our adventure ion San Cristóbal Island, boarded a boat to Santa Cruz Island, dropped our luggage and headed out to the center of the island to a tortoise farm.

Here, we met some really large tortoises lumbering about, mostly looking for food. There were a few that other things on their minds, but we'll get to that later.

These animals are well cared for both in and out of the farm. Careful records are kept and age is primarily judged (for those whose birthday is not known) by size. These you are seeing here are in the 80-100 year old range.

I'm getting some side-eye from this fellow.
