St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Grass Valley

Naturally, we have to explore all the cemeteries. So we headed off to Grass Valley to see another Catholic cemetery. This one is also of god rush vintage but is still in use.

Perhaps the most curious thing in the place is this monument that is completely overgrown. I've never seen such a thing in an otherwise well maintained cemetery.

The imagery on some of the gravestones is quite interesting. Scrolls, square knots, and cross in hand all have meaning for the faithful.

This child's marker is quite detailed.

I liked this weeping madonna but I'm afraid that thtchotchkes pretty much destroy the sentiment it is intended to convey.
