Pine Grove Cemetery

I know it looks like all we do when visiting Nevada City is visit cemeteries. perhaps you are correct. But this is one of the places to learn about the people who built this corner of the world.

This cemetery is complete with plenty of metal fences around the family plots.

Although it is a little confusing, in spite of the fact that Alfred Donald, below, has a six-pointed star on his marker, he is, in fact, christian. E looked him up and found that he was baptised in Cornwall as you might expect.

People came from everywhere to try their luck in the gold rush and its aftermath. 

 Tennessee (above) and Rhode Island (below) are just a couple of the multitude of place people are from.

The Englishman, Elijah Hothersall, was an Odd Fellow.
