Stopping for Lunch in a Kotta

It seems that the Finns build these small huts in the forest. This small one might be a refuge from the cold, I don't know. This small log cabins are called Kotta, huts, in Finnish. The scene sure is pretty though.

In another, larger kotta, we stopped for lunch. It was a delightful meal with mushroom soup. Really delicious. The facility was warm and inviting. Our soup was heated over an open fire.

This one is clearly intended to handle groups of people much larger than our small collection of people.

Even our little cold-blooded Charlie dressed in her well-insulated Finnish winter clothes, gets her hand cold and has to warm them with a hot-hands warmer.

It was nice to have a fire to keep us warm and entertain us with its delightful display.
