At first glance, the laval heron is a rather drab looking bird. Yes, it has the typical shape of a heron, but little else to recommend it.
But as the sun hits the feathers, we see that there is a lot of colors lurking there. Subtle, subdued colors.
So, while blending in well with the lava that is its habitat, it does bring it's own special flair to the scene.
And when he steps off the lava onto the beach, we can see the colors include greens, blues, and purples, among others. A close look is all that is required to see that this "drab" bird is actually quite interesting.
