East Point Beach
North and East of Darwin's CBD is East Point Beach and Park. This is clearly the area for the locals to enjoy the fact that they live at the shore. Nice wide beaches and beautiful vistas. The red trees you see on the opposite shore are called Flame Trees. Natural Christmas decorations.
Looking the other direction along the beach, we see Darwin spread out in all it's glory.
Today, for reasons I do not know, the see here (an arm of the Timor Sea) has a variety colors. I don't remember when, if ever, I saw such a collection of colors in the ocean all at the same time. The greens and blues combined with the earthy ocher along the shore make a beautiful scene.
