A Few More From the Nursery

Sometimes flowers aren't simply brightly colored objects to "ooh" and "aah" over. Occasionally, one such as the one above are more melancholy and display themselves in a subdued fashion. With a little help in darkening the background and desaturating, this flower give a different view of the flower world.

Another Trip to the Langley Cemetery

In our bi-weekly visit to Whidbey Island, we again visited the cemetery. Our routine is now that E buys us a sandwich at the Star Store (a kind of general store in the town center) and we find a nice place to eat in the car. Once again, this delightful cemetery was at the top of our list. So peaceful.

A Visit to Langley, Whidbey Island


We finally screwed our courage to the sticking point and made an overnight trip. We drove to Whidbey Island. Even though the drive and ferry ride only took about an hour, it was good to get out of sight of the house for a little while. Sitting in one place for 6 months is not in character for us these days and the change was refreshing.
