Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge - IV

Mr. and Mrs. hooded merganser sit in water surveying the situation.

This female duck is of a sort I cannot identify. She is just too plain for me to sort out.

I caught this phoebe sitting atop the signpost watching for lunch or predators, I'm not sure which. Or perhaps he is just having a rest.

Here's another muskrat sunning after a swim. How, you may ask, do I know this a muskrat and not a beaver? There is no flat beaver tail on a straight round one like a large rat.
