Clearly, we are in a rainforest. Not only is there plenty of water from the stream, but the trees are of the sort that demand lots of water as well. Moss and lichens cover everything.
The rush of water still manages to make a calm pool under this fallen tree.
This scene reminds me of the sort of things we saw in Tasmania. The conditions are similar... lots of rain and verdant ferns and moss everywhere.
To my eye, this seems more exotic than simply being in Washington. Perhaps it is because of our experience in Australia, but it feels like it could be in a jungle in one of many places.
