Finally, we have sunshine and it is a bit warmer. It is good to get out of the house.
A trip downtown in Staunton is a walk down memory lane for lots of reasons, not the least because of the consignment shops along Beverly Street. The doll has lots of stories to tell.
I walked over to the train station just in time to catch the Cardinal arriving. this brings back all those memories of fetching Anna to and from the train as she commuted between here and Catholic U.
Train stations, like sea coasts, always evoke distant places and new adventures. Even in Staunton's empty station, does more than feel like an old empty building when the train is here exuding possibilities and beckoning with that siren call of adventure just beyond the horizon.
If the arrival of the train represents a door opening and possibility, the back side suggests that I'm late for the party. And yet the party continues here with the town decked out for a Harry Potter themed holiday.
Lots of memories in this town. Never too late to make a few new ones, is it?
