In the main floor pews (we weren't allowed upstairs), each seat in each row is numbered starting nearest the centre aisle. Some even have name plates on them. I suspect that this is because the named person paid to have a particular seat.

Dohány Street Synagogue - II
It was much quieter today than it was back in 2019 for our first visit. This allowed me to more easily move around and photograph.

Dohány Street Synagogue
A few blocks away from the RUmbach Street Synagogue is the Dohány Street Synagogue. This is much larger and grander place. Above is the view from the side. The twin towers you can see the tops of that adorn the front as mostly obscured by trees and other distractions.
I posted photos of this marvelous place back in 2019. You can see similar photo of there.

B&W Retrospective
I occasionally like to go back trough recent photos and see if any would be improved by conversion to B&W. I believe that a few of these from Budapest fill the bill. See what you think. Above and below are image from the Dohany Street Synagogue.

Dohány utcai Zsinagóga
Built in a residential area between 1854-1859 by the Jewish community of Pest according to the plans of Ludwig Förster, the monumental synagogue has a capacity of 2,964 seats (1,492 for men and 1,472 in the women's galleries), making it the largest in Europe and one of the largest working synagogues in the world (after the Beit Midrash of Ger in Jerusalem, the Belz Great Synagogue and Temple Emanu-el in New York City). The consecration of the synagogue took place on 6 September 1859.
