Even though this place is quite modern in comparison with the other ones we saw, it is nicely appointed and, for a large stone church filled with unpadded seats, it is inviting.
It is a really large place, not just vertically, but horizontally as well. It seems to cover the entire top of the hill on which it sits. It is no short walk from one end to the other. Ecuador is a small country and it takes a big place to house chapels for all the states. Just imagine what such place in the US would be like...the size of an Amazon fulfillment center!
We got here from the more centrally located churches we visited earlier in the day by taking a taxi. Several times we were able to take an Uber. One of our Uber rides was $0.88 for 10 minute ride in traffic! I never really knew what the taxis we took cost since the meter was not displayed so I could see it. However, I gave each driver two dollars and they never complained.
