In and Near the Nooksack

The image above is among my favorite from this trip. I really love how the frothy ribbons of water weave themselves into the small falls created by the rocks in the stream.

In the images above and below, the motion of the water gives the impression of a painting. The combination of still rocks and rushing water is quite nice.

Were this a river in the south, I might be tempted to take off my shoes and wad in. But, early spring, near the Canadian border, in a stream of ice melt...no thank you!

But spring it is. Along the banks of the river, we find evidence of the coming growth the season is just beginning to stir.
