The International Rose Test Garden
Wouldn't be a trip to the City of Roses without I show you a few roses, now would it? A stop on our city tour took us to Washington Park to sample the International Rose Test Garden. Here we found oodles of roses of every size, shape, and color.
Clearly, the Portlanders love their roses.
New ones are sent here every year from all over the world. By 2013, the garden had expanded to over 10,000 bushes and more than 650 varieties.
As you can see, there are lots of colors...
and shape variations as well.
Sometimes the colors are subtle...
sometimes, they are flamboyant.
But always, like this one called 'Ingrid Bergman', they are intense and beautiful. If you like roses, then this is the place to be.
