On a sunny day, sometimes the best place to take a photo is the deep shade where the shadows are less stark.

While it possible to shoot in the direct sunlight, the hard shadows make it difficult to achieve any sort of subtilty.

But with care, it is possible to find interesting subjects even on the side of a tree.
