A Trip to La Conner

Visiting the historic town of La Conner takes through the southern end of the Skagit Valley. We stopped at a terrific farm stand to see what we could not live with out and I stepped across the street to take in the view. the sky was cooperating with its textures and swirls.

Even in color, the sky was quite dramatic. It has been (relatively) dry lately and clearly the farmers were able to plow he field before the latest rain created the standing water you see there now.

In La Conner, there were of course antique/junk shops galore and we explored a few of them.

I was, for come reason, drawn to this tableau of the goos and chickens.

The old part of La Conner is located on the passageway between the mainland and an arm of Fidalgo Island where the Swinomish Reservation is located.
