Tammin Cemetery

Of course, our drive east started with another cemetery. Along the Great Eastern Highway we came across the hamlet of Walgoolan and the Tammin Cemetery. This was the most unusual cemetery in Australia we've visited (so far).

All the graves are marked with some really unusual "decorations". the one above has a really simple recognition with a very plain cross and native plants. However, the one below is a bit more...shall we say 60's?

And the next one is just odd. I think the decorators are trying to bring some light to the situation.

This one seems more normal until you realize that the area is covered with sea shells. I don't know...maybe the deceased liked the ocean.

Among the more normal graves are these; just covered with small white stones.

The folks here abouts are apparently kinda hip and like to do things their own way.
