Out and About
Shortly after the sun came up on Lummi Island, we caught a few glimpses of sun in the east. Yet, we could still not really see anything of the mountains. So we left the island to explore the old town in Fairhaven.
Fairhaven is south of Bellingham and is where the ferry to Alaska departs. Back from the water a bit is the old part of town that is now going upscale with shops and restaurants. We visited for while and enjoyed some very fine scones and tea.
Back on the island, I wandered the beach a bit to see what the old trees look like.
Some of the trees were really beautiful.
Others were pretty plain.
But later in the evening, we were treated to a view of Baker and the Twin Sisters.
Perhaps later in the summer, when the sun is more common, we could actually see all of both mountains.
