Bald Eagle
Seth and I went for a walk down the beach in the afternoon. To our surprise we found a Bald Eagle perched on a low branch in a tree. To our even greater surprise, he was perfectly happy to sit on the limb while I shot away and walked all around him.
I think he was posing for me. He was low enough in the tree and just far enough back from the water to not really be looking for dinner. He was just being proud.
It looks like he has a bit of brekkie left on his beak.
Maybe he's just not very fastidious with his daily ablutions or maybe, instead of displaying the remains of his last meal to terrorize the next one, he just keeps a little smudge on his beak to look tough. Well, it works. He is one tough bird.
