Farewell to the Indian Ocean

Due west of us is the suburb of Mullaloo on the Indian Ocean. We drove over to have a last walk on the beach and a last chance to dip our toes in the ocean on the western shore.

Even though it is still spring time here and the water cool, there were plenty of folks out to enjoy the water, sun and sand.

There is a reef just offshore here and the waves start breaking well away from us in many places.

Although it was still a couple hours until sunset, we could see the westering sun reflected in the waves.

The sand on the shore had many places with interesting textures.

The gentle breeze drove the wave onshore in a chaotic way and the constant roar of the sea drown out the sounds of the people around us and the traffic farther inland.

Walking along the shore with the water washing over our bare feet was a nice way to enjoy our afternoon on the beach. I'm sure we'll someday again be on the shore of the Indian Ocean but I don't know when.

For now, we say farewell to this part of the beautiful ocean.
