Old and New

Part of what makes these old cars fun is that the owners have decided to paint them a color they would never have been when new. Pre 1960 or so, cars were largely black or a dark color (dark green, brown, or possible blue). Of course, there were a few cars that had some color, but never candy apple red.

But the newer bits to be seen here include Charlie getting her face painted. This is the face of a girl who is large and in charge. She knows that she is looking good and is happy to show off for Poppy.

While I can easily be wrong on this one, it seem unlikely to me that a bright green was involved with this color scheme of this car.

And since the car below dates from the time when color photography/movies were rare, this picot looks how I always see these vehicles in my head when I think of them. A flag and a sky filled with puffy clouds only add to the timeless illusion. Naturally, you can see the reflection of me squatting down in the bumper, breaking the "fourth wall". Yet, this is an image that really reminds me of my childhood.
