A SoDo Photowalk

I decided to try something new. I joined a photowalk I found online that wandered a bit around the southern, more industrial section of Seattle. Since this part of town is south of the Seattle Kingdome, the sports arena for the Mariners and Seahawks, it is commonly refered to as SoDo (south of the dome).

As you can imagine, there are not things of intrinsic beauty to be found here. Rather there are designs, shapes, and patterns that can be interesting. These first two images show line drawings that someone put on an older, apparently unused building.

Here's a photo with a person in it...intentionally! I know this is rare for me, but sometimes I just have to take one for the gipper. In this case, the lonely perons seems to address the deserted character of the area.

Lest you think this is an area with one old building and one empty street. Here is another building in disrepair. And, heaven forbid, to stop you from presuming that here ins Seattle we are all leftist America haters, there is a flag on top. What more could you possibly want?
