Franklin Market
On Sunday we popped in on the monthly Franklin market held at the Palais Theater this week. The logo for the market seems to be a Tasmanian Tiger. in the photo above you see the food cart of the local pasty maker.
Inside, you see the proscenium and stage and the seating area replaced with vendors. I wouldn't go so far as to say that you get anything here, I would say that the range of choices was very good. From kitties to jam, clothes to jewelry, and an ample supply of knick-knacks and chotchkies.
We stopped on the way out to sample the doughnuts sold by the pasty man.
Across the road we saw what has now become the ubiquitous rainbow. The near constant misting of rain this time of year combined with the frequent breaks in the cloud cover allowing in a bit of sunlight, make a place filled with rainbows.
As you can see in the photo, there is more than a just a misting of rain along this channel of the Huon river. That gap in the clouds that created the rainbow has closed right up and left us, for the moment, with a nice rain and a pleasing winter scene.
