Ballarat
We took the drive about 1.5 hours west to Ballarat. This is a town that was built with gold. In 1851, gold was discovered near here and it boomed. The remnants of the money that flooded in are still seen in the many grand buildings.
We stopped by for a brief look about and cup of coffee.
The place we stopped in for our break was a nice place and not nearly as empty as it looks in this picture.
Warm day and we wanted an excuse to see some of the countryside and be out of the house a little. As we approach time to leave, it gets harder to be motivated to explore.
