South Brisbane Cemetery
Time for a visit to another cemetery.
We've seen lots of things in cemeteries, but this is first time that we've seen socks and shoes left as a memorial on a grave.
There were a few angels keeping watch.
And a broken column representing a life cut short.
For the first time in Australia, we see an orthodox cross.
Another first is learning a new word from a marker: Relict = Widow. Not at all clear why to choose one word over the other except custom.
Interestingly, this marker is carved to look like a scroll on the front and a stone on the back.
Finally, a grave stone that has also been laid to rest.
This cemetery was large and pretty full, but not well maintained. Nevertheless, it was worth a vist on a sunny warm day.
