Queen's Park Botanic Garden

With the arrival of spring is the blossoming of the Queen's Park Botanic Gardens in East Toowoomba. We went out on a misty morning to catch a few of the flowers at their best.

The collected due on the flowers adds a texture to the delicate petals and gives them a greater dimension.

Some of the flowers simply awe with their color and geometry.

Others seem to come alive with a background of contrasting vivid colors in the flowers behind them.

Even the early cherry blossoms bring color and a smile on this soft day.

The mixture of perennials and annuals in the garden is managed very carefully this time of year to bring a mixture of colors and textures that evoke spring and natural beauty. Now is the time of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and it is clear that the city is going all out to make this a special event.

These images, as well as others, as found on flickr.
