Lesmurdie Falls

We drove to a nearby park to see Lesmurdie Falls. The walk from the car park first led us by Lesmurdie brook. It was nice and cool under the trees on the hot day under a clear blue sky.

We saw some wild flowers and some bushes that were blooming. This one resembles a fir tree with flowers. It made me think that the Christmas trees in Australia seem to decorate themselves.

Other plants that also resemble a fir tree or maybe rosemary, have delightful purple flowers.

When we reached the waterfall, we were greeted with a panorama facing west towards the ocean. This is the view looking a bit south of Perth.

A little farther down the hill, we get a full view of the falls. Lesmurdie is not a big, roaring gush of water, but it is a respectable . You may notice the tiny person in the upper right cornet with the white shirt. That's E checking out the flow from above.

With a tiny effort, I took a series of photos and made a panorama of the view looking west from the lower perch with the falls behind me. Now of the right you can see Perth with its cluster of high rise office buildings. Perth doesn't see to be such a large city from this perspective.
