Fowler's Bay Cemetery

We did find another cemetery, much to your relief. This is another small one that I managed photograph all the markers (but I don't present them here).

Perhaps the "star" of the cemetery is this stone. The dark color in the lettering has run giving it a late-night horror show look. This is really creepy looking befitting this remote location.

And to put this stone in more of a context, here a shot from a bit farther back. The rusty iron works, the gnarled tree, the "bleeding" lettering all combine to produce a downright scary scene. I half expected to see a hand emerge from the sand at any moment!

Of course, there were other, less disturbing markers to be found.

But it is clear that we are out in the bush and were it warmer, snake would be in residence as well.

People have lived here in the remote location for a long time and will continue to do so. It is an interesting place but I'm not really sure what one does here except holiday or perhaps fish.

So we climbed back in the ute and headed on down the road.
