Shrine of Remembrance

Just a few blocks south of the Flinders Street Station is the Botanical Garden. In this large park is the Shrine of Remembrance. This place is a tribute to many Australians who fought and died in the wars in which Australia has participated.

There was a tower with an eternal flame to honor those who fought in the second world war.

Statues to remember those who struggled to survive.

And a special place to remember the contributions of the men at Gallipoli.

Inside the main building is good museum covering all the wars from WWI and WWII to Vietnam. Very well done.
